CIIC Celebrates: We’ve Been Recognized with a Bronze Adrian Award for Outstanding Travel Marketing

Year after year, we’ve been recognized by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) for our outstanding Public Relations campaigns, and 2020, although a difficult year in travel, was no exception. Our latest win is a Bronze Adrian Award for public relations excellence for a relaunch Public Relations campaign on behalf of Palladium Hotel Group.

Our work for this campaign, A Weekend with Nadal at Costa Mujeres, took place in March 2020, at the cusp of international lockdowns due to COVID-19. Little did we know that after our return from a wonderful weekend of luxury hospitality and sportsmanship, the world would look a lot differently. Part of our strategy to promote the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre included a group media visit in which tennis and niche travel-focused journalists participated in an exclusive clinic with recognized tennis coach Toni Nadal. Media included broadcast, tennis-focused outlets, YouTube and Instagram tennis influencers, and travel journalists. Over the weekend, they played, enjoyed the facilities, took a stab at cocktail-making, and even got one-on-one tips from Toni Nadal himself.

This weekend resulted in a wave of coverage for the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre, which debuted in Costa Mujeres in November 2019, and renewed media interest in the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa and TRS Coral Costa Mujeres properties.

The HSMAI Adrian Awards will host a virtual celebration on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, recognizing best practices, innovation, and community, and we will be there cheering on the ingenuity and resilience of the hospitality industry.
